Hello,
I’m Ron Reynolds, Assistant News Director for KPFT. I’m also a member on the local station board; and have been for about 6 months. Because I succeeded a board member who resigned toward the end of his term, I come once again in a short amount of time to seek your vote. Foremost, let me take a moment to thank you for your interest in and supporting KPFT; as you are a voting member. I believe now, is a perfect opportunity to mention how I have served you so far as a member of the LSB. Although, I’ve served on the board for just a limited amount of time, I think it will please you to know that during every meeting, especially when my vote is cast, I’m conscience of you, our listeners, our programmers and our supporters. While I do my best to work in harmony with all board members in an effort to keep your station on the air-waves, I’m cognizant about making sure all LSB members stick to the facts, are honest and considerate of you before changes are implemented. One example of this would be: During a recent board meeting some members proposed abolishing the Anti-Racism and Diversity committee. This committee, other board members thought was no longer needed, has been part of Pacifica foundation for more than a decade. Consequently, from my research, I learned the ARD committee had been vital in making your radio station welcomed and provided a pleasant environment for people of all races, sexual preferences, women and people with disability. I fought to keep ARD committee apart of KPFT, This effort wasn’t easy, but we prevailed. Lastly, I understand every penny you give is a hard earned red cent. Therefore, as always, I’m committed to making sure your donations are used wisely.
Thank you for your time and your vote.
Sincerely,
Ron Reynolds
