Chuck Hicks Candidate Statement

My name is Chuck Hicks and I have been a Community Activist since the Civil Rights Movement I continue to fight for issues such as HIV/AIDS, Heath Care, Fair Housing Obesity and other issues that affect the poor and people of color.

I am a member of the union AFSCMD DC 20. I run a city wide Black History Program and a special HIV/AIDS Christmas Project for Children with AIDS and Parent with Children with AIDS in the African Community. My reason for wanting to serve on the WPFW board is because they cannot be purchased, are independent minded and try hard to be the voice of justice for the community. Culturally they preserve the music of the past from Jazz to Blues, to Gospel. This allows us to appreciate many of our artists and contributions.

I have been a constant support of WPFW financially. I would greatly appreciate your vote so I may serve on the board.
