Elections News General Election News WPFW Listeners fail to make Quorum WPFW Listeners fail to make QuorumWPFW Local Election Supervisor Lydia Harris determined that the Listener Sponsor election has failed to meet Quorum. Pacifica Bylaws Article Three Section 7 provides that "For the purpose of any election or written ballot, a quorum of the Listener Sponsor Members shall be ten percent (10%) of those Listener Sponsor Members entitled to vote on the matter as of the applicable record date." WPFW membership of approximately 13,500 Listener Sponsors required return of 1350 ballots. Only about 1050 were returned.
Pacifica Bylaws Article Four Section 5 provides that "If no quorum of ballots is obtained by the extended date, then those Delegates whose terms would have expired upon the election of new Delegates shall remain in office until the next regularly scheduled Delegate election." Pacifica Bylaws Article Four Section 10 provides that "If a Delegate position becomes vacant mid-term, that Delegate shall be replaced for the remainder of his/her term by the highest ranked candidate from the last election of Delegates for that Class of Members for that station who was not elected and who is available and continues to meet the Delegate eligibility requirements set forth in Section 2(A) or 2(B) of this Article of these Bylaws. In the event that no eligible and available candidate from the last election is found, then the Delegates for that radio station shall appoint a Member of the appropriate class to serve as Delegate and fill the seat for the remainder of the term."
