I would be interested in serving on the PNB because I have the board experience, background, vision and skills to make a difference and I would bring a positive spirit.

Bob English

Not until after I have spent some time on the LSB.

Dianne Enriquez

Not at this moment. I would very much like to focus all my energy on KPFA, gain some experience and learn from my highly esteemed peers before venturing to work for the Pacifica National Board.

Sherry Gendelman

While my full time legal practice absorbs a good deal of my life, the lives of my clients, the low income, working people of our country, would be improved as Pacifica’s airwaves gain prominance. For this reason I am now willing to serve on the Pacifica National Board.

Yes, to continue on PNB and work with new ED

To continue work with National Personnel Com. to ensure that universal personnel policies and guidelines are in place and fully implemented.

To help ensure that disability access plans are implemented at all Pacifica Stations.

To ensure that PNB and ED implement plans to make WBAI financially solvent.

I am hopeful that the addition of Nicole Sawaya as the new executive director is going to ring a new, more powerful tone for the board. She was hired by a unanimous vote, which is a great sign. I would like to serve some time on the LSB before I decide whether or not to serve on the PNB.

Warren Mar

I listen to Pacifica and support their work but I am running for the KPFA board and should take on one job at a time. I am also less familiar with the challenges the other stations face in the Pacifica orbit and feel more knowledgeable about Northern California. If elected to the KPFA board, ask me this question again next year.

Susan McDonough

No, if elected I believe it will take some time to become proficient in local station board issues.

Antonio Medrano

I have a lot of experience serving on national boards (during the 1980s, on the local and national board of the U.S. Peace Council).

Attila Nagy

At this time I prefer to concentrate my efforts on the Local Station Board and the committees I serve on.

Richard Phelps

Yes. I believe my legal knowledge and my experience from being on other non-profit boards would help keep Pacifica out of legal trouble. I could assist in developing better policies for personnel and due process. Both of which are desperately needed.

Mara Rivera

Yes I would – the PNB is there to support the local stations and the mission.

There are issues with undemocratic factions on the PNB and illegitimate power throughout the network. The PNB is responsible for the healthy functioning of the entire network but as a group doesn’t always properly assume this responsibility. I would.

Paul Robins

Not until I had served at least 1 and perhaps 2 years on the local board. But once I had I would be interested. There has been conflict in the past between the National board and the local stations. We are missing a great opportunity to use the strength of a national network in our work.

CC Campbell Rock

Yes. I would like to serve to promote the idea of having a Pacifica station in New Orleans (the Deep South) and to expand access to the voiceless in the Bay area.

Tracy Rosenberg

Possibly, although the time commitment is extreme. If I did, than I would primarily be interested in doing so to facilitate better national communication within an environment of local autonomy. I’m very interested in more program syndication and wider audiences for some of the excellent locally-generated programs in all five signal areas.

Gerald Sanders

I am not interested in running for the PNB at this time.

Sureya Sayadi

I would like to help build a national community network of programmers at Pacifica. Most
programmers at Pacifica have no connection with other programmers outside their local station and I
think this needs to change so we are more of a network. We need to have a vision that will increase
programming and link up programmers who do similar programming throughout the network for
national and international days of programming. I also believe that the National Board has failed to
have transparency in it’s operations. It needs to have minutes of it’s meetings posted on the website in a
timely matter for the members to be informed if they want to see what actions are being taken.

While I am open to idea of serving on the national board I do not have a particular interest in doing so as I am more focused on local priorities.

Jim Weber

Serving on the PNB is a challenge that I could appreciate. Having attended several PNB meetings, I have become acquainted with some PNB members and know the issues that they mush resolve to benefit both their local stations and the entire network.

Stan Woods

Perhaps. Over the last years I attended several PNB meetings and followed closely the debates over our network’s direction. But there is at least one member who has far more intimate knowledge of the network who I would prefer replacing the dedicated La Varn Williams, who unfortunately will be leaving the board at the end of this year .
