I have the will, the time and the elder statesmanship that governance demands.  And, the urge to make some pay-back to the source of much of my education during the last 30 years.

Improve democratic participation at KPFK.  Follow up on the access concerns of people with disabilities and make sure that the second floor, as well as the rest of the station, becomes accessible to all.  Disabled and otherwise.

KPFK is a precious resource for the movement for change, an information, music and other lifeline for many, in particular but not only for those with the least resources.  Pacifica and KPFK, being the best they can be, are central to building the movement for change to which I have dedicated my life.  I am presently on the LSB as an independent and practical voice. KPFK and Pacifica are at a crossroads and facing a number of serious challenges that will take experience, patience, compassion, insight and balance to resolve and to move forward in a good way, qualities contribute.  My approach is non- sectarian, anti-racist, anti-careerist and I participate in decision-making based on fact, on the practical ways we can resolve problems as collectively as we can manage.  Diversity does not necessarily mean anti-racist, an important principle to hold front and center as we do the work on the LSB of bridging divides among communities.  As a Black immigrant woman, I will and have worked both to be accountable to my community while not being stuck in my own sector, but to do the hard work of reaching out across divides of sex, race, economic background, national origin, ethnicity and culture to help to make KPFK and Pacifica the best it can be.  Outreach to youth and disenfranchised communities must be a priority and I want to continue the work I have begun to bring youth into KPFK as listeners, hosts and producers through the Sojourner Youth program.    I believe KPFK must be independent and at the same time accountable to its principles and to the communities we serve and I want to continue to facilitate that accountability as an LSB member.
