The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing and organizing all human resources activities of the Foundation, including but not limited to, employment compensation, benefits, training and equal opportunities. HR Director will working under the supervision of the Executive Director and with the General Managers throughout the network to maintain compliance with all EEOC regulations/training relating to California corporations non-profit employment. The ideal candidate will possess a college degree in Human Resources Management and a minimum 3 years experience preferably in non-profit management. DEFINITION: The Human Resources Director will work under the supervision of the Executive Director. The Human Resources Director will be the primary professional supervisory and administrative support to full range of diverse activities as assigned by the Executive Director. The Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing and organizing all human resources activities of the Foundation, including, but not limited to, employment, compensation, benefits, training and equal opportunities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage the Foundation’s equal opportunity/affirmative action programs. 2. Develop and maintain the Foundation’s human resource policies and procedures including the training program with respect to ethics, non-harassment, and new employee orientation. 3. Develop and manage the Foundation’s compensation and benefit programs. 4. Develop and manage effective recruitment and retention plans. 5. Develop and manage the Foundation’s employee relations program. 6. Other duties are may be assigned. 7. Supervision of exempt and non-exempt staff as assigned. 8. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: B.S. in Human Resource Management and a minimum of 3 years experience in the Human Resources field preferably in community or public broadcasting or no-profit management and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Non-profit management and a minimum of 3 years experience in the Human Resources field Skills and Abilities: • Emphasis on communication skills, knowledge of human behavior, and specific understanding of compensation and benefits programs. • Demonstrated general management experience in non-profit and/or private sector. Ability to provide administrative and executive direction. Experience in employee and labor relations highly desirable. • Demonstrated commitment to diversity. • Commitment to the mission of Pacifica. • Strong delegation and decision making skills; diplomatic; excellent judgment; ability to stay calm under pressure; flexible. • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents. Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Mental Abilities: Ability to think clearly and manage multiple changing priorities, and remain pleasant and positive. Requires critical thinking and ability to support people with difficult challenges. Requires good judgment.
